RARI is the name of a small Sicilian wine line. It is the oenologists of the well-known CANTINE SAN MARZANO who dared to jump across the water to the beautiful island to look for suitable vineyards: they found what they were looking for in north-western Sicily, in the hills around Gibellina and in the valley near Belice.
There they secured older plants at Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Syrah and Grillo, which are now managed by contractually bound winegrowers.
Reduced yields and professional cellar work result in wines with the typical style that made SAN MARZANO famous: dense, drinkable, full and spicy the reds, fresh and fruity the Grillo. And at affordable prices! Even if the wines from RARI and SAN MARZANO can be loaded together as direct imports, RARI is more than just a supplement to the Apulian wines.
It is a modern, recognizable and original line of typical Sicilian wines.
The Nero d'Avola vines are 200 m above sea level on rich limestone and clay soils.
The grapes are selected and vinified by the oenologists of CANTINE SAN MARZANO.
Very intense, radiant ruby red. A magnificent bouquet of black cherries and raspberry jelly complemented by a hint of cocoa and vanilla. Complex on the palate, harmonious with a long, spicy finish.
Recommendation: Goes well with hearty snacks with thinly sliced meat and salami and strong cheese.
