Family-owned for five generations, Borthwick Vineyard sits in Gladstone, in the heart of New Zealand's Wairarapa — a cooler, more contained climate than Marlborough that gives its Sauvignon Blanc extra depth alongside the variety's trademark zip.
Pale straw with green hues, this wine is fragrant with spiced stone fruit, tropical notes of lychee and passionfruit, and a touch of dark herb. The palate is bright and zesty, built around ripe nectarine and lemon-lime acidity with a long, tropical-tinged finish.
Tasting notes: Sauvignon Blanc, 100%. Pale straw with green hues; stone fruit, lychee and passionfruit aromas; zesty, long finish.
Food pairing: Shellfish, goat's cheese, or a Vietnamese-style salad.
